Nishiyama Ryokan offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring and traditional futon bedding. Each room includes an LCD TV, private bathroom with a bath, yukata robes, and free WiFi. Some rooms feature a garden view. Family rooms with Western-style beds are also available.
Dining & Cuisine
A Japanese breakfast with yudofu (boiled tofu), grilled fish, miso soup, and rice is served daily. Kaiseki multi-course dinners feature seasonal Kyoto specialties. Vegetarian and Western-style breakfast options are available upon request. Complimentary soft drinks are provided from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Public Bath & Garden
The ryokan has a public bath with separate areas for men and women, open from 4:30 PM to midnight and 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. A Japanese garden with a waterfall provides a quiet retreat. Free high-speed WiFi is available in the lobby.
Location & Transport
The ryokan is a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae subway station and near multiple bus stops. It's a 10-minute walk to Honno-ji Temple and Kamogawa River. Kansai Airport shuttle service costs 3,600 yen. Kyoto Station is 15 minutes away via the Karasuma Line.
Services & Policies
English-speaking staff assist with sightseeing and dining recommendations. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. Credit cards are accepted for room payments, but not for incidentals. The ryokan has a 12:00 AM curfew and is entirely non-smoking.
